Tax and Your Pension

Your LGPS pension is paid monthly and is taxable. On retirement, your pension will be taxed based on the tax code on your P45, or in the absence of a P45, based on a Basic Rate tax code. The tax Office will inform you of any changes to your tax code and they will also notify us so that we can make the necessary adjustments to your pension payments.

You will get a P60 after the end of each tax year, showing you the amount of pension paid and tax deducted during the year.

If you want to know more about the tax you will pay or have a query regarding your tax code, you should get in touch with the tax office and quote the reference number 914 / B11081.
