The Auditor General for Wales is responsible for carrying out the anti-fraud data matching exercise, known as the National Fraud Initiative (“NFI”), under his powers under the Public Audit (Wales) Act 2004. As a result, pension data held by Gwynedd Council, as administrators of the pension scheme, will be supplied to the Audit Commission for the purpose of data matching.
